Jennice Fuentes is a multilingual polymath with a distinguished career that spans the arts, politics in Washington, D.C., and the non-profit sector. She is also a well-informed cultural and political commentator who frequently appears on local and national television news and discussion programs as a guest.
As an actress, Fuentes had the opportunity to play a recurring role in the critically-acclaimed HBO series, K Street, while still holding onto her position as Chief of Staff on Capitol Hill. After leaving her job on the Hill, she founded a boutique government relations firm and a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and encouraging civic engagement.
In addition to her work as an actress and non-profit founder, Fuentes is also a seasoned film critic. She has been a frequent guest and guest host on National Public Radio/WAMU's live, two-hour radio program, The Kojo Nmandi Show, as well as on WUSA 9's local news program, 9 News Tonight. She has also contributed to WETA/Channel 26's program, Around Town, which is the leading public broadcasting station in the nation's capital.
From 2006 to 2007, Fuentes hosted Actualidades, a Hispanic Communications Network radio program that celebrated the best of Hispanic culture. A native of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, Fuentes is a native Spanish speaker who is also fluent in English, French, and Italian. She is conversant in Russian and German and holds a B.A. from Clark University and a M.A. from New York University. She has also studied abroad at the Ecole Europeene des Affairs in Paris, France.
