As she relocated to Los Angeles, Mattison's creative endeavors flourished, and she penned her first screenplay, "Fish Without A Bicycle." The movie entered production in 2003, garnering attention at the prestigious Cannes Marketplace with a screening at the iconic Palais theatre and a limited US theatrical release. This milestone marked the inception of Mattison's multifaceted career as a writer, producer, and actress.
However, in 2007, Mattison's acting career was unexpectedly cut short due to a serious injury sustained while filming the TV series "Brenda Starr Reporter," a project produced by Warner Horizon & Tribune Entertainment, alongside Constance Burge, the creator of the hit TV series "Charmed." The injury required a grueling 5-year regimen of surgeries and rehabilitation, forcing Mattison to reevaluate her priorities.
Mattison's first project following her recovery was "For The Love Of Money," a Jewish Gangster Bio Pic, which she wrote and produced. The film received a limited theatrical release through Lionsgate, earning Mattison an esteemed honor from the Academy Of Motion Pictures, as her screenplay was selected for inclusion in their Core Collection Library.
Subsequent films written and produced by Mattison have received theatrical or television releases, making them available worldwide.
