Biography

Jeff Van Wie, a remarkable individual, was born in Niskayuna, New York, and is the youngest of five children. Growing up in Suffern, New York, he attended Suffern High School, where he excelled academically, artistically, and athletically. As an honor student, thespian, and record-setting track athlete, he set five Rockland County and one New York State record that still stand today.

In 2006, Jeff was inducted into the Rockland County Sports Hall of Fame, where he was introduced as "Rockland County's most accomplished track performer on the national stage." This impressive achievement is a testament to his remarkable athletic prowess.

Jeff's academic achievements were equally impressive. He earned a full scholarship to the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated in 1986 and earned All-American honors.

After graduating from Notre Dame, Jeff pursued a career with Accenture, the world's leading provider of information technology consulting and outsourcing services. Over his twenty-two-year tenure, he was promoted to Partner in 2000 and consistently ranked as the top-performer globally.

However, Jeff's creative pursuits did not stop at his athletic and academic achievements. He had a passion for writing and trained himself in the art and science of screenwriting. His early works laid the foundation for him to approach Nicholas Sparks with an idea for a script about the human struggle.

The result was a beautiful story about a young man who survives the dangers of his world to accomplish his dream. 4 Minute Mile, written by Jeff in 2008, was brought to the screen in 2014, starring Richard Jenkins and Kim Bassinger.

Jeff's collaboration with Nicholas Sparks continued, and shortly after completing the first draft of 4 Minute Mile, Hollywood approached Nicholas Sparks to write The Last Song for Miley Cyrus. Jeff co-wrote the script with Nicholas, and the film became a worldwide success at the box office in 2010.

Today, Jeff continues to collaborate with Nicholas Sparks on future projects and is currently working on several faith-based projects. He resides in Harding Township, New Jersey, with his wife and three daughters.
