Jeff London is a multifaceted individual, a writer, producer, and director who grew up in a small town outside Bakersfield, California, called Shafter. His family later moved to Covina, California, where he attended school.
As the son of a Pentecostal preacher, Jeff had a nomadic childhood, moving frequently and never having the same friends to grow up with. He can recall at least 35 different moves in his life, which has made him appreciate the importance of stability and roots.
Despite the challenges he faced, Jeff's interest in filmmaking began at the age of twelve. He would often visit the mall bookstore and read through a book on filmmaking, which sparked his passion for the craft.
However, Jeff's family did not have the financial means to send him to film school. Instead, he found an interest in motion picture special effects makeup and attended makeup school. He eventually landed a key makeup artist position on a short film for 20th Century Fox, where he learned the importance of teamwork and a positive attitude.
Jeff went on to do freelance makeup work for eight years, working on various features and commercials. He then decided to pursue his dream of making movies, and began writing and producing his own films.
His breakthrough came when he wrote and directed a short film about a family's teen son who is dealing with hidden issues and the older bigoted brother. The film was shot on a mere $1500 and went on to win the Best Drama award for producing/directing in the Northwest region.
Jeff continues to write and develop new ideas, and has plans to write a series of family-holiday books. In his free time, he enjoys his desert life in Northwest Arizona, where he has learned to appreciate the simple things in life.
