Jean Bodon is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Mass Communication at Sam Houston State University, where he teaches courses in television production, cinema, and broadcasting.
As a renowned filmmaker, Dr. Bodon has worked as a feature film director and producer, as well as a director of documentaries and television commercials. His films have been showcased at some of the world's most prestigious film presentation organizations, including the Lincoln Center, the Library of Congress, and the Cinémathèque Française.
Dr. Bodon's extensive body of work has been broadcast on a wide range of global networks and cable systems, including HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, The Movie Channel, E!, TLC, and many others.
In addition to his filmmaking endeavors, Dr. Bodon has also written several books, including a comprehensive volume on Charlie Chaplin, which was prefaced by the esteemed filmmaker François Truffaut, and "Cinema: an introduction", which was prefaced by the acclaimed director Robert Wise.
Dr. Bodon has also published numerous articles in prominent academic journals, such as Communication Monographs, Journal of the Association for Communication Administration, The North American Journal of Psychology, Communication Research Reports, and Communication Quarterly.
Throughout his illustrious career, Jean Bodon has been a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Société des Réalisateurs de Films, and has served as a judge for the International Emmy Awards.
