Juan Camilo Gonzalez, professionally known as JC Gonzalez, is a multifaceted individual with a passion for acting, songwriting, and singing. Born on March 8th, 1990, in Bogota, Colombia, JC's life took a significant turn when he was just eight years old. In 1998, his family immigrated to the United States, driven by the need for medical assistance for his younger brother Daniel, who was born with a rare congenital disease called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenital. The search for a cure led them to Houston, Texas, where JC's family of five began a new chapter in their lives.
As a teenager, JC's life took another dramatic turn when he caught the attention of his future talent agent, Denny Sevier, in 2005. At the age of 15, JC's acting career began to take shape, and by 2009, he had made the bold decision to leave his home in Houston and drive to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. With a determination to succeed, JC left behind the comfort of his family and the familiarity of his hometown to chase his aspirations.
JC's mother, though initially hesitant, eventually understood her son's passion for acting and encouraged him to attend college while pursuing his career in LA. However, after JC landed a role on the hit TV show Parks and Recreation on NBC, he realized that college was not the right path for him. Instead, JC chose to continue his education through self-learning, seeking out internships, and exploring new fields. Today, JC prefers the freedom and flexibility that self-directed learning provides.
In addition to his acting career, JC is also a talented singer, songwriter, rapper, and performer. He has appeared on singing competitions like The X Factor and The Glee Project, as well as various other shows and boy groups. JC is currently working on his thought-provoking and hip-moving hip-hop album, AwakIN, which is set to be released in 2015.
