Jason Kay, a renowned musician, was born on December 30, 1969, in Stretford, England. At a young age, he relocated to East London with his mother, Karen Kay, a talented jazz singer. Unfortunately, a disagreement with his mother led to Jason becoming homeless in his teenage years. To make ends meet, he immersed himself in the street culture, taking on various jobs to sustain himself.
Following an unsuccessful audition to become the lead singer for The Brand New Heavies, Jason decided to forge his own path and formed a band with Stuart Zender, Toby Smith, Nick Van Gelder, and Wallis Buchanan. Although the lineup has undergone significant changes over the years, the band's debut album, Emergency on Planet Earth, released in 1993, was a huge commercial success. The group's fifth and latest album, Funk Odyssey, released in 2001, was also met with widespread acclaim.
