Jay Gordon, a talented musician, was born in San Francisco, California, in January 1967. Growing up, he was surrounded by music and possessed a natural aptitude for it. For four years, he played the bass with dedication and passion. This musical foundation laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.
As fate would have it, Jay met Ryan Shuck, and their collaboration marked the beginning of Orgy's formation. The duo's shared vision and creative synergy set the stage for their musical journey. However, they made a conscious decision to avoid playing small town shows, opting instead to focus on larger, more prominent performances.
Ryan's prior experience playing with Korn's lead singer, Jonathan Davis, proved to be a valuable asset. This connection led to Orgy being signed to Elementree/Reprise records. The band retreated to a secluded cabin in Tahoe to record their debut album, "Candyass," which was released on August 18, 1998.
Two years later, on October 10, 2000, Orgy released their sophomore album, "Vapor Transmission." The group's musical evolution continued, with the five members now working on their third album, scheduled for release in September. Drummer Bobby is also expecting a new addition to his family, and the band is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his baby.
Jay Gordon is now venturing into new territory, planning to establish his own record company. With his wealth of experience and dedication to the music industry, it's no surprise that he's taking this bold step.
