Jason Winn is a renowned independent director and producer, celebrated for his critically acclaimed works, including the feature film The Fat Boy Chronicles, the Lifetime movie The Assault, and the upcoming family action-comedy Shifting Gears, as well as the horror film Dead Thirsty and the adult drama Let's Make it.
With over two decades of extensive production experience, Winn has executive produced two feature documentaries and directed the award-winning feature documentary Spiral Bound. Winn's upcoming family action-comedy Shifting Gears is being touted as a thrilling ride, combining the heartwarming elements of We Bought A Zoo with the high-octane action of Days Of Thunder on dirt. The film follows an overworked dad who spends his life savings on a "family business," hoping it will bring his family closer together, only to find himself wagering their destiny on the unexpected racing skills of his teenage son.
In 2017, Winn took an artistic risk by directing the film Dead Thirsty, a political/horror/thriller set in 1992, during a hallucinogenic drug-nightmare. The film, infused with illicit partying and forbidden sex, is expected to be released nationwide this spring. Winn then went on to direct the adult drama Let's Make it, adapted from the award-winning stage play by Grant McGowen, which is expected to be released this summer.
When not on set, Winn is dedicated to teaching young filmmakers at the University of North Georgia and through the Film Connection in Los Angeles, California. His passion for storytelling and creative expression is evident in his continued striving to broaden and perfect his artistic style.
