Jannette, a talented individual, hails from Maryland, but her journey took a significant turn when she relocated to Los Angeles. There, she dedicated five years to honing her acting skills under the guidance of renowned acting coach Gregory Berger-Sobeck, following her graduation with a Bachelor of Arts degree in film from the prestigious Emerson College.
As Jannette navigated the entertainment industry, she found herself dissatisfied with the limited opportunities available to women. This realization sparked a desire to leverage her filmmaking expertise to create meaningful content. She joined forces with her writing partner and fellow actress, Alyssa Carpenter, and their collaborative efforts yielded a screenplay titled "Narcissa," which secured a quarter-finalist spot in the 2012 Nicholl Fellowship competition.
This notable achievement led to a partnership with BCDF Pictures, allowing Jannette and Alyssa to produce their second script, "Mahjong and the West." The film premiered at the esteemed Woodstock Film Festival in 2014, showcasing the duo's burgeoning talent.
Most recently, Jannette has completed her feature directorial debut, "Sing to Me Sylvie," a captivating music romance inspired by the cinematic masterpiece "Once." This passion project draws from her extensive background as a keyboardist and vocalist, having performed in various bands. The film is poised to make its festival circuit debut in 2021, marking a significant milestone in Jannette's illustrious career.
