Jan-Willem Breure, a visionary entrepreneur and creative force, serves as the director and founder of the esteemed Septimius Awards, a prestigious international award ceremony headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This renowned event attracts an impressive array of attendees, including renowned individuals who have won Emmy and Oscar awards, such as Christopher Hampton and Kevin Willmott.
Jan-Willem's personal journey began in Rwanda, Africa, where he was born in 1988. Tragedy struck when his mother passed away shortly after his birth, and he was subsequently adopted by a Dutch couple who worked as missionaries in Kenya. Jan-Willem spent his formative years in Kenya and Namibia before relocating to the Netherlands in 2002.
He went on to pursue his passion for creative expression by studying Interactive Media Design at the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague.
In 2008, Jan-Willem founded his own award-winning media company, JW Productions, which specializes in film and video productions. His entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish as he established the Septimius Awards in 2022. This innovative event has a strong focus on discovering and nurturing new independent talent, supporting groundbreaking films, and bringing together all aspects of filmmaking and storytelling, encompassing fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series, and scripts.
