Jan grew up on an old farm on the coast of Cornwall, United Kingdom, surrounded by a diverse cultural heritage of Greek, Russian, Scottish, and Eastern European descent, courtesy of his American mother and British father.
As a young person, Jan's passion for the performing arts began to flourish, encompassing card magic and music, particularly the guitar, which would become a lifelong pursuit. He further developed his love for music and theater by securing a coveted spot at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood through a competitive audition process.
During his time at the Academy, Jan's performances caught the attention of an agent during a show of Noel Coward's Present Laughter, directed by Ian Ogilvy, which marked the beginning of his professional career in television and film.
Jan's impressive resume boasts credits in several notable productions, including the USA/Japan-produced biopic Leonie (2010),where he portrayed the renowned artist Isamu Noguchi, alongside acclaimed actresses Emily Mortimer and Christina Hendricks.
As a musician, Jan's growth was shaped by early exposure to various musical genres, particularly jazz and blues, which has led him to develop a unique style that blends soulful blues with intricate jazz rhythms. He has drawn inspiration from a wide range of genres and has performed at prestigious venues, including the iconic Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles.
Beyond his performing arts career, Jan is a skilled photographer and designer, with published works in respected publications such as National Geographic Traveller and The Sunday Times. He has also served as Vice President for several years at a successful American company and lived in Central Europe, where he began work on his own company, intending to donate a portion of the proceeds to environmental causes.
Jan is a strong advocate for continuous self-improvement and lifelong learning, pursuing his artistic endeavors alongside his interests in science, philosophy, psychology, economics, and a deep connection with the outdoors and nature.
