Noted British author, Chase, began his life's journey in the vibrant city of London, where he received his education at the prestigious King's School, Rochester, located in the picturesque county of Kent.
As he transitioned into adulthood, Chase left the comforts of home at the tender age of 18, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and professional exploration. He initially pursued a career in sales, working as a children's encyclopedia salesman and book wholesaler before ultimately dedicating himself to the craft of writing.
It was not until the age of 33 that Chase penned his debut novel, No Orchids for Miss Blandish, marking the beginning of a prolific writing career that would see him publish an impressive 80 books throughout his lifetime.
Despite the fact that many of his stories are set in the United States, Chase himself only made two brief visits to the country, once to the bustling city of Miami and once to the vibrant city of New Orleans.
Given the limited nature of his personal experiences in America, Chase's knowledge of the country was largely derived from a combination of encyclopedias, maps, and slang dictionaries.
