James, a Dallas, Texas native, born to Korean heritage parents, had an older brother residing in New York City. Growing up in Plano, Texas, he demonstrated exceptional skills in Tae Kwon Do and football. His academic journey led him to Baylor University, where he was pursuing a nursing degree during his junior year. However, an unexpected passion for acting emerged through his involvement in community theater. This newfound interest prompted James to take a bold step, embarking on a non-stop drive from Texas to Los Angeles in January 2010. Following a year of rigorous training, James made his acting debut in Pearry Teo's film 'Dead Inside'. Subsequently, he landed roles in prominent TV shows, including CBS' 'Hawaii Five-0' and FOX's 'The Mindy Project'.
