Jama Williamson, a talented individual, was born in Evansville, Indiana, and subsequently graduated Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Theater.
Following her academic pursuits, she relocated to New York City and attended the prestigious Circle in the Square acting conservatory. Williamson's early career consisted of several Off-Broadway stints, including the world premieres of Avery Crozier's "Eat the Runt," "Spanish Girl," and the cult hit musical "Debbie Does Dallas," directed by Erica Schmidt.
Her breakthrough role came when she landed a lead part in Manhattan Theater Club's Broadway play "Losing Louie," directed by the renowned Jerry Zaks.
After making her Broadway debut, Williamson and her husband, Curtis Mark Williams (a former actor and inventor of Belly Buds),relocated to Los Angeles. In this new city, she secured recurring roles on several notable television shows, including NBC's "Parks and Recreation" and "The Good Place," ABC's "Single Parents," and the series regular role of "Nora Tate" on Nick at Nite's "Hollywood Heights." Additionally, she played the part of Principal Mullins on Nickelodeon's Emmy-Nominated musical series "School of Rock." Williamson has also appeared in over 50 national commercials.
In recent years, Williamson and her family moved back to the east coast, where she is currently recurring on the television series "American Rust" alongside Jeff Daniels and Maura Tierney.
