Isabelle Champeau, a Montreal, Quebec, Canada native, was born on April 19 to Marie-Anne and Jean-Pierre Champeau, with the middle child of three sisters being herself. Her innate charm and beauty led her to pursue a career in acting and modeling at the tender age of 17.
Before long, Isabelle landed a series of commercials and guest-starred on several TV shows. Her acting career took off when she was handpicked from a crowd of over 500 teenagers to roller-blade in a McDonald's commercial. At 19, a talent scout selected her for a three-month modeling stint in Japan and later in Spain.
Isabelle has always been a girl on the go, with a passion for yoga, soccer, swimming, rock climbing, skating, snorkeling, and dancing. She developed her teamwork skills through gymnastics and volleyball games. Her early life was marked by her parents' divorce when she was in her early 20s, and a few years later, her estranged father developed cancer, to which she dedicated herself to nursing.
Education has always been a priority for Isabelle, who initially pursued science with the intention of studying veterinary medicine, but later took courses in scriptwriting at Quebec University. She then completed her Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies at Concordia University in Montreal.
Isabelle further developed her interest in film by working as an assistant to her mentor, Father Marc Gervais, a film analysis teacher, author, and judge at the Cannes Film Festival. She attended the International Film and Video workshops in Rockport, Maine, USA, where she was offered an assistant teaching position just three weeks after her arrival.
Subsequently, she went to Los Angeles to study script analysis and acting with Judith Weston. In 2002, she acted and danced in the music video "The Best of Billy Joel," which appeared in Canada and the USA. She has been attending Warren Robertson theater workshops since 2002.
In addition to acting, Isabelle is interested in other aspects of the entertainment industry, having worked in casting for children's television shows, such as Caillou for PBS, and written, directed, and produced documentaries, corporate videos, short films, and a music video, "Red Light." She is also an assistant and location manager for photographers, TV shows, and films.
In early 2007, Isabelle wrote, produced, and had the lead role in The Valley, a short film based on a true story.
