Ingo Rademacher is a renowned Australian actor, best recognized for his extensive stint as Jax on ABC's long-running soap opera "General Hospital". Prior to his acting career, he worked as a model in Brisbane and Sydney, eventually landing his first acting role as Sean Hayden on the Australian television series "Paradise Beach" in 1993.
Rademacher made the transition to Los Angeles in 1994 and quickly secured the role of Jax on "General Hospital", which he played for an impressive 15 consecutive years. Although he has since concluded his tenure on the show, he still makes occasional appearances, much to the delight of his devoted fan base.
In addition to his dramatic work, Rademacher has showcased his comedic talents in various television shows, including "Veronica's Closet", "According to Jim", and "Clueless", as well as in Aaron Spelling's "Titans". In 2013, he participated in the reality television series "Dancing with the Stars", reaching the semi-finals alongside partner Kym Johnson.
Rademacher has also made appearances on the big screen, starring in films such as "Alex Cross". Furthermore, he has recurred on the CBS series "Hawaii Five-0" as federal prosecutor Robert Coughlin and is set to appear in the upcoming STARZ series "Counterpart".
Born in Germany, Rademacher relocated to Australia as a child and grew up on a 400-acre cattle and Angora goat station. This upbringing instilled in him a lifelong passion for water sports, which he has pursued with great enthusiasm. He has competed in various races, including the Lifeguard's King's Race in Honolulu and the Molokai to Oahu race, a grueling 32-mile event that takes place in shark-infested waters.
Rademacher's love for water sports has led him to become a skilled stand-up paddleboarder, earning him a ranking of 80th in the world in 2014. He has also worked as a lifeguard in Australia, beginning at the age of 16.
In his personal life, Rademacher met and married his native-born wife, Ehiku, in 2009. The couple has two home-birthed sons, Peanut Kai and Pohaku Zen, who are also home-schooled. In 2011, the family relocated to Hawaii, where Rademacher continued to pursue his passion for stand-up paddleboarding.
In 2012, Rademacher and his wife co-founded Mahiku activewear Hawaii, an activewear company inspired by their shared passion for stand-up paddleboarding. The couple relocated to Los Angeles in 2017 to be closer to the manufacturing process and to allow Rademacher to focus on his acting career once again.
Now, Rademacher and his family strive to balance their busy lifestyle, juggling home schooling, running their activewear business, attending auditions, and traveling. "We have a super tight family unit and are rarely apart," Rademacher notes. "Los Angeles is the perfect location for us to pursue all of our interests."
