India was born in Leigh-on-Sea, England, approximately an hour outside of London, where she resided with her mother, renowned singer BB Dupre, and her rock and roll pianist father, John Denton. When India was just four years old, a doctor recommended a move to a warmer climate to alleviate her asthma, and so BB relocated to Australia with India, her sister Saffron, and brother Simon. The family traveled extensively before settling in Bondi Beach, Sydney.
At the tender age of 15, India was discovered by Elite Models after showcasing her singing talent and winning the Australian version of Star Search, titled Have A Go. This marked the beginning of her modeling and acting career, which included appearances in two international Coca-Cola campaigns. Subsequently, India moved to Laguna Beach, California, to complete her final year of high school at Dana Hills High School.
Following her graduation, India was accepted into UCLA's School of Theatre, Film, and Television, where she actively participated in numerous productions at the Freud Playhouse. During her time at UCLA, India also attended Playhouse West, honing her craft under the guidance of renowned instructors Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum. Upon her graduation, India joined the esteemed Stella Adler Players and acted in several plays while continuing her studies at the academy.
India's professional acting career took off when she landed an agent while playing the role of Gloria, a high-class call girl, in Sidney Brewstein's production of Window. She subsequently spent her time divided between Los Angeles and London, where she was touring and recording an album with Nick Heyward, formerly of Haircut 100, titled The Mermaid and the Lighthouse Keeper.
Currently, India is based in Los Angeles and has recently been performing solo at Genghis Cohen. Additionally, she has made a notable appearance in the latest installment of the Austin Powers film franchise, Goldmember.
