Ilker's mother is a unique blend of German and Turkish heritage, while his father is a Turkish citizen of Kurdish descent from the city of Van. Ilker was born in the vibrant city of Istanbul in the year 1984.
After completing his undergraduate degree in Arts Management and receiving training in the art of acting, Ilker made the bold decision to relocate to London for a three-year classical acting program at the prestigious LAMDA, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Classical Acting. Following his return to Turkey in 2013, Ilker landed starring roles in several hit television series, including Poyraz Karayel, Kayip Sehir, and others. His impressive acting skills also earned him a spot in the feature film "Silsile" (Consequences) in 2014, and he is currently preparing for a new film project, with filming set to commence in May 2017. Additionally, Ilker has recently taken on the leading role in the television series "Dip", which has been made available online.
Ilker's outstanding performance in Poyraz Karayel earned him the esteemed "43. Golden Butterfly Best Actor" award, as well as numerous other accolades from various organizations. As a linguist, Ilker is fluent in English and possesses a native-level proficiency in up to three dialects: Received Pronunciation, Spanish, and Middle Eastern.
In addition to his impressive acting and linguistic skills, Ilker is also a highly talented musician. He is proficient in playing the guitar, piano, and drums, and has showcased his musical talents in several episodes of Poyraz Karayel, which are available on YouTube. Ilker has also contributed to the soundtrack of the series and the film "Silsile" (Consequences).
Furthermore, Ilker is a certified PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor, having obtained his certification in 2004. He has been an avid free and scuba diver since the age of 10. Ilker maintains a dual residence in both Istanbul and London.
