Ian Dickinson is a versatile individual with a rich background in both the entertainment and corporate industries. Born in Plymouth, England in 1963, he grew up in the small village of St. Germans in South East Cornwall, before moving to London in 1983. There, he co-founded and managed the music publishing company 'Anxious Music' and the independent record label 'Anxious Records' with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics.
After resigning from the Anxious companies, Ian pursued his passion for drama and English literature at 'The Working Men's College' in London. He later left the UK for Berlin in 1995, where he has since appeared on various stages, playing both in German and English. Ian has also had a successful career as a guest actor, appearing at the 'Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin' from 1998 to 1999 and the 'Deutsches Theater Berlin' from 2003 to 2008.
In addition to his work in theater, Ian has also had a prolific career in film, with credits including 'A Hologram for the King', 'Die Frau, die sich traut', 'Passion', 'The Physician', 'The Power', 'Weak Heart Drop', 'Tom Atkins Blues', 'Person To Person', 'Fay Grim', 'V For Vendetta', and 'Paul Is Dead'. He has also appeared in numerous television shows, including 'Europas letzter Sommer', 'Deckname Luna', 'Konrad Adenauer', 'Die Männer der Emden', 'Tatort: Der tote Chinese', 'Die Pfefferkörner', and 'Der Verleger'.
Ian has been working in voice-over for over twenty years and is an established English voice-over artist with a wealth of experience in advertising, film, and narration, as well as character work for drama and animation. His clients have included Lufthansa, Deutsche Bank, Hyundai, Goodyear, Credit Suisse, Schwarzkopf, BMW, Panasonic, Opel, Toyota, Braun, Deichmann, and Zurich Financial.
In addition to his work in voice-over, Ian has also recorded numerous audio guides for various museums and exhibitions, including Berlin's Bode Museum, Pergamon Museum, Altes Museum, Jewish Museum, and Hamburger Bahnhof, Munich's Pinakothek and Hamburger Kunsthalle, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the New York Museum of Modern Art.
