Ian Power's professional journey began with a flourish, as he established himself as a talented writer and director of numerous acclaimed short films.
His inaugural film, "Buskers", swept the boards at both national and international film festivals, earning a prestigious nomination for a Turner Classic Short Award at the British Film Institute and setting a record for viewership on Sky Movies.
Power's feature film debut, "The Runway", was an award-winning comedy-drama that starred Demián Bichir and Kerry Condon, and premiered at the Director's Guild of America in Los Angeles. The film went on to win Best Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh, and its success was further cemented by its multiple international awards, including being named "Best of Fest" at the Palm Springs Film Festival.
"The Runway" was subsequently distributed theatrically in the United States and around the world, solidifying Power's reputation as a talented feature film director.
In recent years, Power has continued to make a name for himself in the industry, writing and directing "The Tattoo", which won Best Irish Short at the Fastnet Film Festival and the Light in Motion Award at the Foyle Film Festival. "The Tattoo" went on to claim Best Short Film prizes globally.
In addition to his work in feature films and shorts, Power is also a highly acclaimed commercials director. His debut commercial was featured internationally in Shots and won an ICAD for Best Direction. Since then, his commercials have won numerous awards for iconic campaigns for clients such as Three, ESB, FBD, and An Post.
