Hisham Fageeh is a multifaceted creative force, effortlessly traversing both Western and Arab audiences. His career began in 2011 as a covert stand-up comedian in Saudi Arabia's underground comedy scene, where his material gradually gained mainstream recognition.
This recognition led to his appointment as Head of Content at Telfaz11, a multi-channel network boasting an impressive 24 million subscribers and over two billion views.
As a filmmaker, Fageeh garnered international acclaim for producing and starring in Saudi Arabia's submission for the 'Best Foreign Film' category at the 2017 Oscars, Barakah Meets Barakah. For his outstanding performance, he received a nomination for Best Actor Award at the Arab Cinema Awards in Cannes.
Barakah Meets Barakah premiered at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. The film's distribution rights were subsequently acquired by Netflix, making it the first Saudi film to be featured on the streaming service.
Fageeh served as the Director of the Middle East Media Initiative (MEMI) at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, a program launched in 2018 to support and mentor Arabic TV writers and producers. Under his leadership, the careers of many industry professionals have flourished.
In addition to his film work, Fageeh has expanded his talents by working on television in the US, contributing to the Golden Globe-winning show Ramy and the Emmy-nominated animated comedy Big Mouth.
He has also starred in and produced some of Saudi's most successful film and TV projects.
Fageeh is currently embarking on a new production venture, DH'BAB Productions, based in both the US and Saudi Arabia. This innovative initiative aims to bridge the two industries, focusing on creating film and television projects in various genres, including comedy, horror, and more.
