Biography

Person Biography:

Sascha Tanney, a renowned physician, embarked on his educational journey by attending Stuyvesant High School in New York City. He subsequently pursued higher education at the University of Michigan and UCLA, before earning his M.D. degree from the University of Buffalo Medical School.

Tanney's medical training continued with an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Los Angeles County General Hospital. Additionally, he completed a one-year fellowship in Endocrinology at the University of Southern California.

In late 1962, Tanney established his medical practice in Beverly Hills, California. His professional network soon expanded when Blake Edwards, a renowned film director, became his patient. Edwards would later refer Julie Andrews to Tanney in 1966, and the two have maintained a lasting friendship and patient-doctor relationship to this day.

Tanney made his film debut in the 1970 movie "Darling Lili," playing the role of a gypsy violinist and adopting the screen name "Sascha Tanney." He went on to appear in nearly every film directed by Blake Edwards, consistently choosing a first name starting with the letter "S" followed by his real last name.

Currently, Tanney has been practicing Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in the Santa Ynez Valley for the past 14 years. He resides with his wife and two youngest daughters, enjoying a fulfilling personal and professional life.
