Biography

Ariel "Rel" Schulman and Henry Joost are a dynamic directing duo, cherished friends, and the founders of the renowned New York City production company, Supermarché.

Their inaugural feature documentary, Catfish, made its world premiere at the prestigious Sundance film festival in 2010, and its impact was so significant that it not only spawned a new term in Webster's dictionary but also led to the creation of a popular MTV show, of which they serve as Executive Producers. Their second feature, Paranormal Activity 3, holds the record for the highest grossing horror opening weekend of all time.

Henry and Rel have also excelled in the realm of commercial directing, having created dozens of captivating commercials and short films, including A Brief History of John Baldessari, narrated by the incomparable Tom Waits, which has been showcased at over 100 film festivals worldwide. Their Google commercial, "Dear Sophie," was hailed as Time Magazine's Best Commercial of the Year. Additionally, their short films for Vogue Magazine, featuring the talents of Lena Dunham, Margot Robbie, and Elle Fanning, have garnered an impressive 50 million views.

Beyond their numerous film and television projects in various stages of development, Henry & Rel have written and are attached to direct an adaptation of Edward Abbey's novel, The Monkey Wrench Gang, which is being produced by Ed Pressman and Gary Burden.
