Biography

Dame Helen Mirren, a renowned thespian, was born in the esteemed Queen Charlotte's Hospital, situated in the heart of West London. Her mother, Kathleen Alexandrina Eva Matilda (Rogers),hailed from a humble, working-class English family, while her father, Vasiliy Petrovich Mironov, was a Russian-born civil servant, whose own paternal lineage boasted a diplomat.

Mirren's early life was marked by a strong affinity for the performing arts, which was nurtured during her formative years at St. Bernards High School for girls, where she actively participated in school productions. This early exposure to the world of theatre laid the foundation for her future career, as she began to hone her craft in the esteemed institutions of the West End and Broadway.
