Biography

Noted screenwriter, songwriter, composer, and author, educated at the prestigious Barnard College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Prior to her illustrious career, she held the esteemed position of heading the Theatre Guild's press department from 1937 to 1938.

In 1953, she joined the esteemed American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP),and collaborated with notable musical partners, including the talented Jay Livingston, Bronislaw Kaper, and Bernard Green.

Throughout her remarkable career, she penned a plethora of popular songs and instrumental compositions, including the memorable "March of the Ill-Assorted Guards", the endearing "Take My Love", the whimsical "The Ballad of Jack and the Beanstalk", the enchanting "Twelve Feet Tall", the soothing "Sweet World", the charming "I'll Go Along With You", the lively "Looka Me", and the wistful "He Never Looks My Way".
