Håvard Bustnes, born in 1973, has accumulated over two decades of experience in directing and producing documentaries, solidifying his reputation as a prominent figure in the industry. Based in Trondheim, Norway, Bustnes is a co-owner of UpNorth Film, a production company that has enabled him to bring his creative vision to life.
Bustnes' international breakthrough came with the feature documentary "Big John" in 2008, which garnered widespread critical acclaim and numerous prestigious awards. The film won the Amanda Award, as well as several other accolades, including Best Nordic Documentary at Nordic Panorama in Malmö, The Golden Chair in Grimstad, and The Crystal Heart Award in the United States.
Following the success of "Big John," Bustnes went on to direct and produce a string of highly acclaimed documentaries, including "Health Factory" (2010),"Two Raging Grannies" (2013),and "Golden Dawn Girls" (2017).
