Harshvardhan Rane is a talented actor who has made a mark in both Telugu and Hindi film industries. Born to a doctor father and a homemaker mother, Rane was raised in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India.
He pursued his graduation from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Delhi, India, and later honed his acting skills at the prestigious Barry John Acting Studio. Rane actively participated in various theatrical shows and projects, including the Indian adaptation of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire.
Before entering the film industry, Rane worked as a freelancer in a film-building enterprise and performed in numerous theatrical projects by Hyderabad-based theatre groups. His early career saw him make his television debut in the TV show Left Right Left, starring Harshad Chopda, Rajeev Khandelwal, and Arjun Bijlani.
Rane made his film debut in the Telugu film Thakita Thakita in 2010, starring alongside Haripriya, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Anushka Shetty, and Bhoomika Chawla. He went on to work in several Telugu films, including Naa Ishtam, Avunu, Anaamika, Maaya, Geethanjali, and Brother of Bommali.
In 2014, Rane worked opposite Nayanthara in Anaamika, where he played the role of a software engineer, and opposite Avantika Mishra in Maaya and Anjali in Geethanjali. He also appeared in Telugu films such as Bengal Tiger and Fidaa, as well as doing cameo roles in films like Sanam Teri Kasam, Paltan, and Kavacham.
Rane's breakthrough in Hindi cinema came with Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016, a romantic tragedy starring Mawra Hocane. He continued to work in Hindi films, including Paltan and Kavacham in 2018.
In 2021, Rane was featured in the Netflix release Haseen Dillruba, a romantic thriller directed by Vinil Mathew, opposite Taapsee Pannu. He also appeared in the romantic comedy Tara vs Bilal in 2022, directed by Samar Iqbal, starring Sonia Rathee and Raheem Mir.
