Hardik Mehta is a multifaceted writer-director who has made a significant impact in both fiction and non-fiction formats. His documentary film, Amdavad Ma Famous, released in 2016, has garnered extensive global recognition, traveling to prestigious film festivals such as HotDocs Canada, PalmSprings, US, and the French Academy of Cinema, and has won numerous accolades, including the Swarna Kamal and the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film in 2015.
Mehta's debut feature film, Kaamyaab, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films, premiered in theaters to widespread acclaim and had its World Premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. His subsequent feature film, Roohi, starring Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, also received a theatrical release in 2021.
In addition to his work as a director, Mehta has also co-written the films Trapped, released in 2017, and Paatal-Lok, a 9-episode Amazon series that premiered in 2020. Paatal-Lok won Mehta and the writing team the FilmFare Awards for Best Story and Best Screenplay.
