Henry Nasiff, better known as Hank The Angry Drunken Dwarf, was a one-of-a-kind individual from Massachusetts who gained widespread recognition for his numerous appearances on The Howard Stern Radio Show. This diminutive performer's breakthrough came in August 1996, when he and a friend from Boston's dinner theater drove to New York City, determined to get on the Howard Stern show. Hank's charismatic personality and witty humor quickly won over Howard Stern, and soon he became one of the show's favorite guests, appearing on the program whenever possible.
Hank's signature style included showing up to the studio drunk, often carrying a green soda bottle filled with vodka. Despite his tiny stature of 4-foot-1 and weighing only 95 pounds, he was capable of consuming remarkable amounts of alcohol. In fact, during one episode, Hank scored an impressive.375 on a breathalyzer test. Throughout his numerous appearances on the show, Hank consistently brought laughter and entertainment to listeners, earning him the nickname "Angry" but also showcasing his remarkable ability to spread joy.
Hank's popularity on Howard's show led to him becoming a semi-celebrity, resulting in numerous public appearances for his devoted fans. In November 2000, during a promotion for J&B Scotch at a Los Angeles bar, Hank suffered a terrifying ordeal when he went into seizures. Fortunately, he made a swift recovery, but unfortunately, he returned to drinking just a few weeks later.
Sadly, Hank's life was cut short on September 4, 2001, at the age of 39. Despite his tough exterior, Hank's kind-hearted nature always shone through, and it is this remarkable quality that will be remembered and deeply missed by so many. Although he may have been a small man, his soul was truly giant. Rest in peace, Hank.
