Biography

Born on a warm summer day, August 24th, 1916, in the charming town of Petoskey, Michigan, USA, Hal Smith entered the world with a bright and promising future ahead. This talented individual would go on to make a lasting impact in the entertainment industry, not only as an accomplished actor, but also as a skilled writer. His impressive repertoire included iconic films such as The Great Race, released in 1965, as well as the beloved animated classic, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, which premiered in 1977.

But Smith's talents didn't stop there. He also had a notable role in the popular television sitcom, The Andy Griffith Show, which aired from 1960 to 1968. This show, which starred the incomparable Andy Griffith, became a staple of American television and remains a beloved favorite to this day.

In his personal life, Smith was married not once, but twice. His first wife was Harriet Louise Curtis, with whom he shared a loving relationship. After their divorce, he went on to marry Vivian Marie Angstadt, with whom he would spend the remainder of his life.

Tragically, Hal Smith's life came to an end on January 28th, 1994, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA. His passing left behind a legacy of laughter, joy, and a wealth of memorable performances that continue to entertain audiences to this very day.
