Person Biography:
Guy is the Founder and Artistic Director of Prague Shakespeare Company, the professional English-language theatre of the Czech Republic. With a career spanning the United States, Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Qatar, Egypt, and India, his work as an actor, director, and producer has garnered numerous awards and over 100 US theatre award nominations.
Guy has won several prestigious awards, including the 2020 Houston Theatre Award for Best Visiting production for his PSC production of Hamlet and the 2018 Houston Theatre Award for Best Actor for his performance of The Poet in PSC's An Iliad. In 2016, under his leadership, PSC became the first theatre company in the world to present the entire newly accepted Shakespearean canon in a single year.
Guy has received numerous accolades, including the Tomas Garrigue Masaryk Medal of Honor from the Masaryk Democratic Movement for promoting arts and artistic freedom, the inaugural Sidney Berger Award from the Shakespeare Theatre Association for his dedication to Shakespeare's works, and being named "Honorary Houstonian" at the 2013 Houston Press Theatre Awards.
Guy has played many notable Shakespeare roles, including Macbeth, Henry V, Iago, Richard III, Hamlet, Pericles, Leontes, Jaques, Sir Toby Belch, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Hector, Romeo, Mercutio, Benedick, Bottom, Demetrius, Snug, Puck, Dogberry, and Lucio.
As a director, Guy has worked on numerous productions, including An Iliad, Troilus and Cressida, and The Trojan Women, as well as Much Ado About Nothing, Venus in Fur, Twelfth Night, and Amadeus. He has also worked as a guest director, including a Czech version of Much Ado, which has been running for over four years.
Guy has also had a successful career in film and television, including roles in Medieval, Missing, Legends, and Borgias, as well as numerous voice overs for Japanese anime and commercials.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Guy frequently lectures and trains Executive Leadership in the Corporate world using Shakespeare's history plays as a model for success. He is also a proud member of several professional organizations, including Actor's Equity Association, The Society of Stage Directors, British Equity, and the Shakespeare Theatre Association.
Guy is married to actress Jessica Boone and is the proud father of Isabella, Rohan, and Landon.
