Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo, a French musician, was born on February 8, 1974, in the vibrant city of Paris, France.
He met his future band-mate, Thomas Bangalter, in school in 1987, and their friendship would soon blossom into a musical partnership.
In 1992, they discovered their passion for dance music after attending a club, which marked the beginning of their musical journey together.
That same year, they recorded a Beach Boys-inspired song under the name "Darlin'", which caught the attention of a UK magazine reviewer who described it as "a bunch of daft punk".
Embracing their new nickname, Guy-Manuel and Thomas adopted the moniker "Daft Punk" and signed with Soma Records, a Scottish label.
Daft Punk's breakthrough single "Da Funk" was released to great success, and they went on to release their debut album "Homework" two years later, featuring hits like "Da Funk", "Revolution 909", and "Around the World".
Guy-Manuel took a brief hiatus from Daft Punk, during which Thomas Bangalter pursued his alter-ego, Stardust, and recorded the hit single "Music Sounds Better with You" in 1998.
In 2001, Daft Punk released their sophomore album "Discovery", which included four hit singles: "One More Time", "Aerodynamic", "Digital Love", and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger".
Additionally, that year, they released "Alive 1997", a live-compilation album, and "D.A.F.T." (2000),a music video collection featuring their music videos from the album "Homework".
