Greg James' journey in the entertainment industry began after he graduated with a degree in Theater Arts from the University of Oregon. He then pursued a professional career in stage acting, simultaneously taking on the lead role in his debut on-screen project, The Dividing Hour, a sci-fi/horror movie that gained widespread recognition, including being featured in fanzines and conventions, and was even highlighted by Roger Ebert & The Movies as one of the top cult films of all time in 2000.
A Special Edition of the film was later released on DVD and VOD in 2003, allowing for a wider audience to experience the movie. Following this, Greg transitioned away from the stage, opting to focus on independent short and feature films, showcasing his versatility as an actor by taking on a range of comedic and dramatic roles.
Some of his most notable performances during this period include the humorous turn in the short film One Night Hand (2003),the more serious portrayal in the feature film The Heater (2005),and the romantic comedy role in Damaged Goods (2005). After taking a six-year hiatus from acting to focus on his personal life and work behind the camera, Greg returned to the acting world in 2011, leveraging his technical skills and life experience to star in and support numerous short and feature films.
Greg's extensive and varied acting resume has earned him recognition for his work in various genres, including his comedic roles in the viral online series The Drunk Series (2015),his serious performances as a Series Regular in TUFF TV's Combat Report (2015),and his co-starring role in an episode of Grimm (2016). Additionally, he gained international recognition for his role in Fox Searchlight's critically-acclaimed film Wild (2014),starring Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon.
