Biography

Harrison's early filmmaking endeavors were marked by the release of his first two features, Groove (2000) and November (2005),both of which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival and were distributed by Sony Pictures Classics. Groove, a comedy that delves into the San Francisco rave scene over the course of one night, garnered a nomination for Best Feature at the Independent Spirit Awards. November, an experimental drama starring Courteney Cox, James Le Gros, and Michael Ealy, won the cinematography award at Sundance and earned Harrison recognition as one of the "10 Directors To Watch" by Variety.

In addition to his filmmaking endeavors, Harrison has also collaborated with renowned Italian video artist Francesco Vezzoli on several projects. Their first joint effort was a fake movie trailer for a hypothetical Hollywood remake of Caligula, featuring an all-star cast including Gore Vidal, Helen Mirren, Milla Jovovich, and Courtney Love. The trailer premiered at the Venice Biennale in 2005, was showcased at the 2006 Whitney Biennial, and is now part of the Guggenheim Museum's permanent collection. Harrison and Vezzoli's second collaboration was a satirical documentary that explores the life and death of Vezzoli in the art world, presented in the style of an E! True Hollywood Story. The documentary premiered at the Tate Modern in London in 2006 and continues to be exhibited at museums and galleries around the world.

In 2005, Harrison co-founded Map Point Pictures with producing partner Danielle Renfrew Behrens. The company has since produced a range of documentaries and feature films, including Double Dare (2004),Daldry Calhoun (2005),and American Son (2009).
