Born in Rome, Italy, to Neapolitan magistrates, Giulia Michelini began her artistic journey as a teenager, competing in artistic gymnastics. Her talent was soon noticed by a film producer, leading her to pursue acting. Her first screen appearance was in the Italian TV series "Distretto di polizia" in 2000, where she played the role of Sabina, the sister of Giulia Corsi.
The following year, Michelini landed her first film role in "Remember Me, My Love" (2003),directed by Gabriele Muccino. She then went on to star in the miniseries "A Judge of Honor" (2004) and the TV series "R.I.S. - Delitti imperfetti" (2005-2008).

In 2012, Michelini returned to the set of "Squadra antimafia - Palermo oggi" for the fourth time, reprising her role as Rosy Abate. She then took a break from the series, appearing in films such as "Fasten Your Seatbelts" (2014) and "Il bosco" (2015).
In 2015, Michelini starred in the horror/police miniseries "Il bosco" and appeared in the films "Ever Been to the Moon?" and "Torno indietro e cambio vita". She left "Squadra antimafia" for good in 2016, only to return as the main protagonist in the spin-off "Rosy Abate: La Serie" (2017-2019).
In 2017, Michelini appeared in the third and final season of the TV series "In Treatment", playing the role of Bianca. She then reprised her role as the Queen of Palermo in the second season of "Rosy Abate: La Serie" in autumn 2019.
