Person Biography:
Gigi Gorgeous, a renowned YouTube star, transgender activist, author, television personality, actress, model, and LGBTQ icon, was born Gregory Lazzarato outside Toronto, Canada. As a nationally ranked diving champion, she rose to stardom in 2008 by creating her YouTube channel, posting beauty, fashion, and makeup tutorial videos as a Toronto high school student. She came out as a gay male at 19 and later transitioned to a transgender woman in 2013.
Gigi's documentary, "This is Everything: Gigi Gorgeous," premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2017 and won several awards, including the Streamy Award for Best Feature and the Critics' Choice Documentary Award for Most Compelling Living Subject of a Documentary. She was named one of Time Magazine's "25 Most Influential People on the Internet" and one of "Forbes 30 Under 30" in 2017.
Gigi has appeared in various TV shows and films, including "Nightcap," "Me and My Grandma," and "Project Runway All Stars." She has modeled for top brands and has been featured on the covers of several magazines. She has also worked with several LGBTQ organizations, including GLAAD, LA LGBT Center, and Children's Hospital of LA Transyouth Program.
In 2016, Gigi was denied entry into Dubai for being a transgender woman and was detained for over five hours at the Dubai International Airport. She responded to the incident by calling for equality and legal protections for LGBTQ people. Gigi is engaged to her girlfriend, Nats Getty, and they reside in Los Angeles, California.
