Geoff Thorne was born in the United States. In the year 2000, he made the bold decision to leave behind a successful acting career, choosing instead to dedicate himself to becoming a professional writer.
His entry into the world of writing was marked by success, as he broke into the realm of Star Trek tie-in novels and was a finalist in the prestigious Writers of the Future science fiction contest. This early momentum propelled him towards writing for prominent television series, including Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Leverage, and The Librarians.
During his hiatus from these shows, Thorne indulged his childhood passions for comics and cartoons, penning several episodes of the globally popular Ben 10 series, as well as episodes of Marvel's Spider-Man and Avengers series. Upon his return to The Librarians, he resumed his role as producer.
In 2016, Marvel Comics entrusted Thorne with the task of creating their first original character in nearly a decade, Mosaic. Furthermore, Marvel Animation invited him to develop and executive produce the Image Award-Nominated Avengers: Black Panther's Quest series, which premiered in 2018.
In addition to his work in television and comics, Thorne is also the co-creator of the audio drama Phantom Canyon, a project undertaken in collaboration with Pendant Productions.
Lastly, Thorne is a co-founder and writing partner of Genre19, a studio he established with artist Todd Harris in 2008.
