Gennadi Vengerov, a renowned Belarusian-born Russian actor, was born on August 27, 1959, in Vitebsk, Belarus.
After completing his education at the Technical School for Architecture and Construction, Vengerov began his creative career as an announcer at the Vitebsk Regional Radio and later performed at the People's Theater in Vitebsk.
In 1980, he was invited to join the Yakub Kolas Belarus National Academic Drama Theater, marking the beginning of his professional acting career.
Following his military service in the Soviet Army, Vengerov entered the School-Studio at the Moscow Art Theater, where he studied under professors Viktor Monyukov and Vladimir Bogomolov.
In 1986, he co-founded the "Sovremennik-2" Theater with his course mate Mikhail Yefremov and continued his career at the Moscow Academic Mayakovsky Theater.
Vengerov's international career began in 1990, when he worked as an announcer for Deutsche Welle Radio and an actor at the Dusseldorf Drama Theater in Germany.
From 1995 to 2000, he was a member of the Bochum Drama Theater, and since 2004, he has been actively involved in Russian cinema and television projects.
As a voice-over talent, Vengerov has worked on documentaries, fictional films, and advertisements, and has been the brand voice of the Russian News Broadcasting Station - RSN and the Russian brand voice Euronews international channel.
In 2009, he narrated the TV show "Men's Stories with Gennadi Vengerov" on the Russian REN TV channel.
Throughout his career, Vengerov has starred in over 140 films in Russia, the USA, England, Austria, and Germany, working alongside notable actors such as Jude Law, James Cromwell, Sean Bean, Til Schweiger, Christian Slater, Ving Rhames, Mario Adorf, Colm Meaney, Franka Potente, Jan Josef Liefers, Klaus Löwitsch, and others.
Vengerov is well-known in Russia for his roles in the "Fighter" series as blacksmith Vulkan and in the "Hour of Volkov" series as Major Volkov, and in Germany for his role as businessman Viktor Strelnikov in the TV series "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten".
