Gawtti, also known as King Folsom, is a prominent member of the Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E., a musical group comprised of five brothers and a cousin. This talented crew, once notorious gangsters, has transformed their lives and now pursues a career in music and entertainment. Gawtti and his brothers spent considerable time behind bars due to the complexities of their life on the streets.
The Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E. members, including Gawtti, were affiliated with the West Side Piru Bloods, while their cousin, Murder One, hails from the Park Village Crips. However, following the tragic murder of one of their brothers, they made the bold decision to leave their Los Angeles neighborhood and temporarily relocate to Japan in an effort to escape their tumultuous environment.
Growing up, Gawtti and his brothers developed their musical talents through their church choir, where their father, a reverend, played a significant role. This exposure ultimately led to the formation of the Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E., also known as the Samoan Mafia. Furthermore, Gawtti has launched a clothing company, Gawtti clothing, which he heads.
Gawtti has also ventured into acting, playing the role of Skinny Pete in the 2003 film The Italian Job. Interestingly, his bodyguard in the movie is portrayed by his older brother and crew-mate, Kobra. The Boo Yaa T.R.I.B.E. has collaborated with Faith No More on the song "Another Body Murdered," featured on the Judgment Night (1993) soundtrack. Gawtti is the youngest member of his family.
