Gary Shore, a multifaceted creative force, hails from the north side of Dublin, specifically Artane.
He embarked on his educational journey at the Galway, Mayo Institute of Technology, where he studied film from 1999 to 2002.
Subsequently, Shore attended The National Film School from 2005 to 2006, further honing his filmmaking skills.
Before transitioning to feature films, Shore gained experience directing commercials and music videos.
In 2009, he took a hiatus to explore his artistic side, enrolling in fine art at Central Saint Martins in London.
Shore made his feature film debut in 2014 with the fantasy epic, 'Dracula Untold', produced by Universal Pictures.
The film garnered moderate success, amassing $215 million at the global box office, topping the Blu-ray charts, and winning the Saturn Award for Best Horror.
Following this success, Shore dedicated himself to refining his craft before returning to the horror genre in 2022 with his next feature, The Queen Mary, which he both directed and co-wrote.
Shore's narrative approach and visual style are heavily influenced by the sharp angles and curves he admires in the work of filmmakers such as Sergio Leone, Martin Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Stanley Kubrick, Steven Spielberg, and Akira Kurosawa.
