Gary Orona, a native Californian born in 1964, began his photographic journey at the tender age of 18, securing a job as a photographer for the Ventura Star Free Press. By 22, he had obtained a degree in film production from Columbia and was rapidly making a name for himself as a director and cameraman of note.
Orna's insatiable thirst for adventure and passion for the great outdoors led him to be handpicked by EMI Records in Tokyo, Japan to produce, direct, and photograph over 100 music videos for the Karaoke market. By his mid-twenties, he was producing and directing music videos and commercials, and at the age of 26, he was hired as Director of Photography for Imperial Entertainment's The Bikini Carwash Company in 1992.
The following year, he directed the sequel, The Bikini Carwash Company II, and his film career was well underway. Undeterred by the conventions of the bikini film genre, Orona aimed to infuse fresh epic life into it, producing and directing The Great Bikini Off-Road Adventure for HBO/Cinemax in 1994, "The Raven's Kiss" a.k.a. Stripshow in 1996, and Crime & Passion in 1999.
Next, Orona produced, directed, and photographed over 50 one-hour erotic special event videos, establishing a production company to supply erotic films and videos to Playboy.com, DirecTV, In Demand pay-per-view, and worldwide DVD. Over the past three years, he has delivered 13 episodes of Thrills to HBO/Cinemax and was instrumental in the development, production, and direction of 26 episodes of Hotel Erotica for HBO/Cinemax.
Furthermore, Orona has recently developed, produced, and directed a pilot for FOX TV, a mock-reality TV show entitled "Fox Extreme World".
