Biography

Born in the vibrant city of St Louis, Missouri, in the year 1932, Gary was an exceptionally talented gymnast and athlete during his school days, who unexpectedly developed a profound interest in dance as a teenager after being mesmerized by the iconic film 'The Red Shoes'. As a result, he made the bold decision to relocate to the bustling city of New York to pursue his passion for dance.

Gary's journey in the world of dance led him to participate in the 1957 Broadway production of the groundbreaking musical 'West Side Story', which subsequently toured Britain the following year. He eventually left 'West Side Story' to take on a straight acting role in the play 'Orpheus Descending', and throughout the 1960s, he became a staple on British television, frequently appearing as one of its go-to American characters in popular shows such as 'The Saint' and 'The Persuaders', as well as making appearances in American films.

In 1964, Gary took the initiative to open a dance studio in London, which remained operational for an impressive thirteen years until 1977, when it transformed into a health spa. Around this time, Gary retired from his acting and choreography career to embark on a new venture with his wife Marie, relocating to the picturesque island of St Lucia, where he opened a hotel.
