Born in Los Angeles, California, Galyn was raised in a family with a strong connection to the arts. Her mother, Gwyn Gorg, is a writer, storyteller, and educator, while her father, Alan Gorg, is a filmmaker, writer, and educator. Galyn has a brother, Carter, and three sisters, Gentry, Sunny, and Tagi. She spent a significant part of her childhood on the Big Island of Hawaii and the island of Oahu, where her father's German heritage and her mother's mixed ancestry, including African-American, Choctaw, Blackfoot, and Irish roots, shaped her cultural identity.
Galyn's early exposure to theater, courtesy of her parents' involvement, led to her being cast in numerous youth productions. She then went on to excel in local theater productions, laying the groundwork for her future success. Her career as a dancer began to take shape when she was awarded scholarships to the prestigious Dupree Dance Academy, Alvin Ailey Summer Program, and The Professional Dancer's Society in Hollywood. There, she honed her skills in various dance styles, including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Haitian, Afro-Samba, Afro-Cuban, West African, Hip-Hop, Hula, and Funk.
Galyn had the privilege of training with renowned choreographers such as Michael Peters, Debbie Allen, Sarah Elgart, Marguerite Derricks, Otis Salid, Jaime Rogers, Franco Miseria, Bill Goodson, and Vince Patterson. Her exceptional training led her to work professionally in music videos and commercials, ultimately securing a successful career as a dancer and showgirl on Italian television.
