Biography

Here is the biography of Gale Page:

Gale Page, born Sally Perkins Rutter on July 29, 1910, in Spokane, Washington, came from a political family. Her uncle, Miles Poindexter, was a U.S. senator from Washington who later became an ambassador to Peru. Her great-grandfather, Joseph Gale, was the first governor of Oregon.

Before becoming an actress, Gale worked as a radio actress and singer with Ted Weems' Orchestra, appearing on radio soaps such as "Masquerade" and "Today's Children". In 1938, she moved to Hollywood and was spotted by Warner Bros, who changed her name to Gale Page.

Gale's film career spanned 16 movies, including "Crime School", "Indianapolis Speedway", "They Drive by Night", "Four Daughters", and "Knute Rockne All American". She co-starred with the Lane sisters in the "Four Daughters" series and appeared in films with Humphrey Bogart, Pat O'Brien, and Ronald Reagan.

Gale married twice, first to Frederick Tritschler and then to Count Aldo Solìto de Solis, a pianist and composer. She had two sons, one with each husband. After retiring from acting, Gale made a few guest appearances on TV shows and died of lung cancer on January 8, 1983, at the age of 72.
