Gabriel Fleming has spent the past twenty years honing his skills as a versatile editor, working on a wide range of projects that showcase his ability to adapt to different styles and genres. His impressive portfolio includes big-budget action films, independent art films, documentaries, and scripted television.
Throughout his career, Fleming has collaborated with notable directors, including Peter Berg, with whom he worked on three major features: Lone Survivor (2013),Deepwater Horizon (2016),and Patriots Day (2018). He also edited the critically acclaimed independent film Blindspotting (2018),which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Lionsgate.
In addition to his work on big-budget features, Fleming has also edited independent films, such as Angel Has Fallen (2019) and Greenland (2020),both directed by Ric Roman Waugh. His recent credits include No One Will Save You (2023),National Champions (2021),and Trees of Peace (2021),an independent feature that tells the powerful story of women struggling to survive the Rwandan genocide.
Fleming's career began as an apprentice editor on a big-budget feature, before he moved to San Francisco to work on independent films, documentaries, and video art. During this time, he also wrote and directed award-winning micro-budget art films, two of which premiered at SXSW. When he returned to Los Angeles, Fleming worked on independent features, including Kelly Reichardt's Old Joy and Wendy and Lucy, starring Michelle Williams, before transitioning to big-budget features.
