Gabriel L. "Gabe" Valdez, a dedicated and seasoned law enforcement professional, spent a considerable amount of his career serving as a trusted and experienced officer with the New Mexico State Police, as well as an investigator for the New Mexico Gaming Control Board.
However, it is Valdez's work on a particularly puzzling and unsettling series of crimes that has cemented his place in the annals of New Mexico's history. In the 1970s, a number of livestock animals were found mutilated in a manner that was both gruesome and inexplicable.
