Biography

Fereydun Robert Armisen is a multifaceted American creative talent, initially making a name for himself as a musician by performing with notable groups such as Trenchmouth and the Blue Man Group.

As his career progressed, Armisen landed his big break in the world of comedy, joining the esteemed cast of Saturday Night Live in 2002, a role he would maintain until 2013.

This significant milestone in his career led to Armisen collaborating with fellow SNL alums Bill Hader and Seth Meyers on the critically acclaimed television series Documentary Now! for IFC, which premiered in 2015.

Armisen also teamed up with Carrie Brownstein to co-create the hit IFC series Portlandia, which debuted in 2011 and has since become a beloved and iconic program.

In addition to his work in television, Armisen has made notable appearances in various films, including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy in 2004, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny in 2006, and Easy A in 2010.
