Before transitioning to directing, Martin honed his acting skills in popular television shows like "Law & Order", "Law & Order SVU", and "Ed". His athletic prowess, which he showcased as a Division One Basketball Player at Hofstra University, ultimately led to a significant role as "Will Carter" in the feature film "Above The Rim". Martin had the unique opportunity to form a connection with the legendary Tupac Shakur during the production of this film.
Prior to devoting himself full-time to the arts, Martin had a successful career as an NBA Agent. He represented and negotiated contracts for notable NBA players, including Anthony Mason, Dwayne Schintzius, Erick Strickland, Mike James, Greg Dreiling, and Aaron Williams.
Sadly, Franklin Martin passed away on December 1, 2018, in New York, due to glioblastoma, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and influence the entertainment industry.
