Biography

Francisco Aragon, an American filmmaker with a rich background in the industry, is a proud member of the Directors Guild of America (DGA),officially joining in 2013, and a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) since 1989. He is a multifaceted creative force, having worked as an actor, writer, director, and producer for over 25 years.

Born and raised in the vibrant streets of Boyle Heights, Francisco, also known as Frank, has been drawn to the world of filmmaking since his early days as an actor. He gained recognition for his roles in Angel Town (1990) alongside Theresa Saldana and Death Wish 4: The Crackdown (1987) starring Charles Bronson.

As his passion for filmmaking grew, Frank transitioned behind the scenes, working as a location manager on notable projects such as Real Women Have Curves (2002),Resurrection Blvd. (2000),and The Brothers Garcia (2000). In 2000, he founded his own production company, with a mission to create American-Latino themed films with universal appeal.

As a producer and 2nd unit director, Frank has worked on a diverse range of films, including Love (2001),Boyle Heights (2010),Hollywood Familia (2006),and The Miracle (2011). His dedication to his craft was recognized with the 2001 Golden Eagle Award as Outstanding Independent Filmmaker from Nosotros for his work on Love (2001).

Frank's passion for storytelling is driven by his desire to make a difference in his community and to share the stories of the struggles, triumphs, heartaches, and joys that often go unheard. His upcoming film, A Time of Love and War, is set for release in 2021 and marks a new chapter in his illustrious career.

As a respected figure in the industry, Frank is also a dedicated advocate for diversity and inclusion. He serves as Co-chair of the DGA Latino committee and is a member of NALIP (National Association of Latino Independent Producers). In 2020, he founded the National Association of Hispanic Entertainment and Media Professionals, further solidifying his commitment to promoting and celebrating Hispanic representation in the entertainment industry.
